In India, our focus is to improve gender representation at all levels within the organisation and also recruit senior talented women in Technology and Finance. The gender agenda is supported by the Women Initiative Network (WIN), which consists of employees volunteering to drive women empowerment. We have also partnered with the UN in their HeForShe campaign, that engages one billion men in the advancement of women's rights.

Disability

We have come a long way in ensuring that Barclays offices in India are accessible and people with all abilities feel comfortable working here. The Reach network organises various programme and initiatives to build disability and mental health confidence in our workplace. We also partner with different NGOs such as Ability Foundation, Enable India, V-Shesh that work towards enabling people with disability.

The agenda is supported by colleagues’ network, Spectrum, which not only celebrates the diversity of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community, but creates an inclusive work environment where colleagues feel confident bringing their whole selves to work. We have partnered with organisations such as Periferry, Pride Circle, Humsafar Trust to further strengthen this LGBT inclusion focus in our workplace.

Multicultural

Embracing people from all cultures and faith and providing them with fair environment and equal opportunity is the key focus of this agenda. Embrace is the network that supports the multicultural agenda by encouraging conversations on cultural inclusion and enabling working across borders seamlessly. In India, the volunteers run a grand event called Barclays Got Talent – that celebrates people’s talent above their culture, religion and faith.

Emerge is the network that supports the Multigenerational agenda through programmes such as Reverse Mentoring, Dynamic Working and Working Family Network, which helps us in building a culture that supports talent across generations and life stages.
