Praveen Kumar, CEO, BGSC India

Praveen joined Barclays as Co-Chief Executive Officer of Global Service Centre in November 2018. Over the past four years, Praveen has helped us make real progress in growing our leadership and developing our talent. Through close collaboration between Operations and Technology and by establishing the automation Centres of Excellence, we have increased the level of automation in our processes, helping us to create efficiencies. He has also been instrumental in improving the working experience of colleagues with the opening of our world-class Pune campus in 2019.

Praveen has over 20 years’ experience in technology and has led technology organisations at several large financial services groups, including JP Morgan Chase, ANZ and RBS. Prior to joining Barclays, he was Chief Information Officer at JP Morgan Chase in India, where he was responsible for transforming technology delivery through automation and establishing deep capabilities in specific business domains.

Praveen has a Ph.D. in Engineering from University of Cambridge.

Praveen is an active participant in industry forums, and often speaks on topics such as Tech transformation, automation and engineering excellence. He is a sponsor of women in technology and actively mentors aspiring talent. Praveen is a technology enthusiast and has a keen interest in wildlife photography.
