Igniting the spark of leadership

A learning programme to promote out-of-the box thinking.

We initiated a structured learning programme for the development of leadership skills among our women colleagues. The programme focuses on activity based learning and aims to enhance skill set by integrating it into the way we do business. It also focusses on: 

  • Strengthening the pipeline of women leaders and improving diversity ratio at leadership levels.
  • Preparing our women colleagues to take the next steps in their career by helping them acquire the required skills.
  • Providing a platform for peer learning, mentoring, reverse mentoring, networking, and skill development for our women colleagues.

How does the programme work:

  • The Learning series spans for about six to nine months with three to four levels of incremental difficulty.
  • Each level comprises online courses paired with an activity to re-enforce the learning.
  • Members are expected to complete the courses and convey the key takeaways amongst other participants.
  • Captains are to continuously mentor and coach the participants through every level of the programme.
  • Apart from the club activity, participants are given exposure to senior leadership by events such as networking sessions, mentoring interactions and discussions with experts.

  • Programme structure is such that it transcends departmental barriers and promotes collaboration.
  • It breaks silo thinking and communication barricade for free flow of ideas.
  • Identifies potential similarities across departments and possible synergies of processes.

  • Promotes out-of-the box thinking and best practice sharing.
  • Encourages lateral movement.
  • Enriches communication and influence skills by providing real scenario experience.

Individual growth and movement: 

  • Most participants took up broader roles and responsibilities upon completion of the programme.

  • Benefitted not just the women colleagues but even male colleagues in chiselling their coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Reverse mentoring opportunity for Senior leadership.
